About MMR Designs
I have always had a deep love for the arts. My father
was an artist and named me after one of the most famous artists in
the world, Claude Monet. My parents enrolled me in dance school when
I was 4 and I continue to dance even today. I was never very at good
drawing but was always creative.
After college I played around with wire and stones making
simple wire earrings. I sold them at local craft fairs and flea markets.
I did not start to design jewelry more seriously until a few years
ago after my father became ill with cancer. It was a way for me to
stay home, care for him and make money.
Quite a few years before he became ill, I worked for
several years with a jeweler and developed a love for jewelry as well
as learning a craft. When I was able to I took silversmithing classes
to increase my knowledge. My family and friends were encouraging and
eventually several stores in Philadelphia decided to carry my jewelry.
I enjoy working with the different textures and so many
colors available. I am constantly amazed at the beauty that comes from
the rocks and stones in nature. I am contantly learning and hope my
designs continue to evolve.
I hope you enjoy my creations.
